Nuance and Handmark Announce Distribution Agreement
Under a new strategic distribution agreement, Handmark will distribute Nuance Communications’ Nuance Voice Control for BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and Palm devices. Nuance Voice Control is a comprehensive mobile search and messaging service that is driven entirely by natural voice commands.
Handmark has strong distribution relationships with major U.S. carriers and European device manufactures and powers robust distribution channels, including www.handmark.com, Pocket Express and other desktop Web and on-device e-stores. Nuance will receive prominent placement within these distribution channels.
Nuance Voice Control speech-enables advanced smartphone features in mobile devices such as creating calendar entries, dialing a contact, playing music, obtaining driving directions, and searching the Web for business listings, news, weather, stock quotes, sport scores and more. Users can also dictate email messages and have them instantly transcribed on their smartphone, ready to send. The application does not require training, so most users can be up and running within minutes.
Simple intuitive voice commands for Nuance Voice Control allows subscribers to place phone calls by name, add calendar appointments and manage calendar entries, complete directory assistance searches, dictate email messages, search the Web, and view news reports, weather forecasts, stock quotes, sport scores, and movie listings. Nuance Voice Control will be available through Handmark for $6 a month.
