NNG and iNAGO Partner on In-Car Conversational Assistant
NNG, a provider of in-car navigation systems, and iNAGO have introduced NNG Assistant, an intelligent, conversational assistant powered by iNAGO's netpeople platform and integrated with NNG's new NavFusion Platform.
Going beyond simple voice commands and speech recognition, drivers can converse with NNG Assistant in everyday natural language.
"The NNG Assistant is much more than putting a voice interface in a car," Ron Di Carlantonio, founder and CEO of iNAGO, said in a statement. "It carries on interactive conversations with drivers to get them exactly what they need at exactly the right time."
"Ever since the 1980s series Knight Rider, people have been intrigued and excited by the prospect of cognizant, interactive cars," Di Carlantonio continued. "At iNAGO, we are striving to achieve this dream, and the NNG Assistant is the next step towards this goal."
netpeople technology is already deployed in Japan and is now expanding into the global market, starting with North America.
"iNAGO is a game-changer in the automotive industry," said Jim Robnett, vice president of business development at NNG, in a statement. "By combining iNAGO's netpeople platform with our NavFusion Platform, drivers will have a much more realistic way of dictating voice commands in the vehicle. We're really happy to have teamed up with such an innovative company and think that together we'll have the opportunity to improve the core driving experience, making it more intuitive, more interactive, and above all, safer."
