NEC Delivers IP Telephony System to Sony’s New Head Office

Sony will implement a large-scale Internet protocol telephony system, including NEC’s UNIVERGE SV7000, a SIP-based IP telephony server, and 9000 IPtermSIP85 IP phones.

NEC’s collaboration middleware, UNIVERGE OW5000, provides open application programming interfaces (APIs) to integrate voice and data systems and enables the new system to link Microsoft Office applications with telephone functions, providing click-to-dial phone numbers stored in the Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. In addition, NEC’s unified messaging system, UnifiedStar i Series, centrally manages voice messages and promotes a reduction in communications-related cost and business efficiency.
