M*Modal Appoints New CEO
Clinical documentation and speech solutions provider M*Modal has named Duncan James as CEO and a member of the company's board of directors, replacing Vern Davenport.
James joins M*Modal from QuadraMed, a supplier of clinical, access, and revenue management solutions. He served as QuadraMed's president and CEO and was also a member of the board of directors.
Graham King has been named as the new chairman of the board, replacing Davenport. King was formerly head of the two largest healthcare information technology companies in the world, Share Medical Systems (now part of Siemens) and HBOC (now part of McKesson).
In related moves, M*Modal also announced that Ron Scarboro, CFO, has been appointed as COO; he replaces Amy Amick. David Woodworth, currently vice president of finance, will assume the role of acting CFO.
"This is a very exciting, positive period for M*Modal as it continues to grow and increase its presence in the healthcare industry's important clinical documentation segment," said Greg Belinfanti, partner at One Equity Partners, owner of M*Modal, in a statement. One Equity Partners, the private investment arm of JP Morgan Chase, acquired M*Modal last year for roughly $1.1 billion.
