Loquendo TTS Integrated into Gogo Navigator for North America
Building on the success of Gogo Navigator apps in Korea and Japan, EnGIS Technologies, a supplier of navigation software, has launched Gogo Navigator for North America. The new product features text-to-speech capabilities from Loquendo to voice-enable turn-by-turn directions.
Gogo Navigator software is well known in North America for powering many leading in-dash and portable navigation (PND) products, but this is the first time for its release as a smartphone application in this territory. The product is packed with useful navigation features, which include Real-3D, Advanced Lane Guidance, Real Signpost display, Google Local Search, millions of onboard points of interest, and much more.
Gogo Navigator current supports U.S. English, Latin American Spanish, and Canadian French. EnGIS will add support for Japanese and Korean languages with upcoming releases.
EnGIS is now working on a new TMC in-app feature that will be released as an in-app purchase in the coming weeks. This real-time traffic information will be provided by Clear Channel Total Traffic Network (CCTTN) which covers all major metropolitan areas and connecting highways across North America.
“We’re excited to be part of this new application development, and it’s good to know that all the high quality features which we’ve come to expect from EnGIS navigation devices have now been made available for the iPhone, including localized search, outstanding 3-D display, and Loquendo’s expressive synthetic speech,” said Luisa Cordano, sales manager of embedded technologies at Loquendo.
EnGIS Technologies is expanding its coverage of Gogo Navigator smartphone apps to include Mexico, Brazil and Western Europe.
Gogo Navigator USA & CAN is initially offered at the specially reduced price of $29.99 to mark its launch in North America.
