Loquendo Reaches 70 Voices

Loquendo today released a new text-to-speech female American Spanish voice (Ximena), and a new male Norwegian voice (Henrik).

With Ximena, Loquendo now offers three American Spanish voices. Henrik is Loquendo’s eighth Scandinavian voice, which are available in four languages: Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, and Danish.

Loquendo TTS (version 7.9) offers several new features, including a new Emphasis Tool for stressing any word or phrase within a prompt, and support for the MP3 encoding format. 

Loquendo currently boasts the largest voice/language portfolio in the industry - currently at 70 voices and 28 languages. The languages currently available are: U.S., U.K., and Australian English; American Spanish; Mexican, Chilean, and Argentinian Spanish; Castilian Spanish; Catalan; Valencian; Galician; Brazilian and European Portuguese; Esperanto; Norwegian; Swedish; Danish; Finnish; German; Dutch; Polish; Greek; Turkish; Russian; Mandarin Chinese; Canadian and European French; and Italian, in both male and female voices. The company plans to release voices in Arabic and Romanian later this year, and more under development all the time.

Additionally, Loquendo TTS 7.9 has been successfully tested on Linux Debian 4, 32-bit; Linux Suse 10, 64-bit; Linux CentOS 5.2, 32/64 bit, in addition to the operating systems already supported (see below). The list of supported operating systems, for both 32 and 64 bit, is: Windows (desktop and server versions); Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, 4, 5; Linux Suse 10; Linux CentOS 5.2.; and Linux Debian 4 (32-bit only). In addition, Loquendo TTS is available for all major mobile and embedded platforms, as well as on Mac OS X.
