LeTV Adopts Conexant AudioSmart Technology for Its Smart TVs
China's LeTV has adopted Conexant Systems' CX2092x far-field voice input processor system-on-chip (SoC) for its new Super TV 3 family of smart TVs, enabling users to control their TVs with voice commands.
Conexant's AudioSmart technology makes voice control possible in noisy, far-field conditions of up to five meters away and at any angle relative to the microphone. It also features advanced control and search, always-listening mode in an ultra low-power state, and echo cancellation that allows users to talk to the TV while it is on, from anywhere in the room.
"The choice of Conexant as our partner for our new lineup of smart TVs was an easy one to make," said Liang Jun, chief operations officer of LeTV's Smart Device Group and president of Le Shi Zhi Xin, in a statement. "They are the clear industry leader in far-field voice processing and have provided us with top-tier support to develop a high-performance, customized, differentiated solution for the Chinese market. We are changing the way people are interacting with their TVs, delivering a better, more user-friendly experience."
Designed specifically for Smart TVs, Conexant's CX2092x combines an integrated DSP CODEC processor with voice processing algorithms to create a true far-field voice processing solution for consumer electronics. Conexant's AudioSmart solutions offer the optimum mixed signal and DSP technology for high-fidelity voice and audio processing.
Key features include the following:
- Fully-integrated Wake-on-Voice solution with embedded third-party speech recognition engine;
- Compatibility with multiple speech recognition vendors;
- Reference design with pre-tuned hidden microphone module; and
- Dual 24-bit ADC and microphone pre-amp with independent microphone bias supply.
"Conexant has become the industry standard for far-field voice processing for smart homes, including smart TVs, set-top boxes, home appliances, speakers, and other IoT applications," said Saleel Awsare, Conexant's senior vice president and general manager, in a statement. "The typical household presents many challenges that make voice control difficult or even impossible. Children talking, appliances running and dogs barking all compete with voice commands being heard and understood. Our technology eliminates background noise and makes voice control possible."
