Lastminute.Com Creates Talking Foreign Phrase Books for Mobiles

Lastminute.com and developers CoolGorilla launched six new talking phrase books for your mobile phone.  The phrase books offer a new way to communicate on your holiday.

Using lastminute.com's application you can search for a phrase in English and press select. Your mobile phone then speaks the phrase in the foreign language with a native accent and provides an additional text translation on your screen. 

Using your phrase book you can ask for directions, hire a car and engage in small talk.

The phrase books are available in six foreign languages: French, Spanish, German, Greek, Italian, and Portuguese.  Each one contains between 250 and 300 sound files covering all elements of your foreign experience including eating, travel, and flirting. Later this year more talking phrase books will be launched including multiple versions communicating from one non-English language to another, for example French to Italian.
