Knowles Acoustics and MEMSCAP Form Strategic Partnership
ITASCA, Ill. - Knowles Acoustics announced it has chosen MEMSCAP as a source for the manufacture of its silicon microphones' MEMS wafers.
Knowles selected MEMSCAP North Carolina facility as a source of its MEMS silicon microphone wafers. The SiSonic™ microphone takes advantage of semi-conductor manufacturing processes that result in a microphone that yields a high degree of repeatability, stable acoustic performance and flexibility for future design enhancements. The success of its SiSonic™ silicon microphones that are today in cellular phones, PDAs, MP3 recorders, and digital cameras makes Knowles Acoustics a worldwide provider of applied MEMS acoustic components, with a global addressable market size that exceeds 500 million microphones per year.

ITASCA, Ill. - Knowles Acoustics, a division of Knowles Electronics LLC, and Sony Semiconductor Kyushu Corporation have reached a definitive manufacturing and supply agreement for MEMS wafer service. Under the terms of the agreement, SCK will provide fabrication services of the Knowles Acoustics designed MEMS microphone wafers.
