HearingPlanet Selects Angel.com for Phone-based Hearing Test
More than 35 million Americans suffer from hearing loss, yet most have not sought medical assistance. HearingPlanet, a retailer of hearing aids, turned to Angel.com to develop a phone-based test to screen individuals for hearing loss. The test is offered for free, and generates leads for the company by enabling callers to transfer to a live operator and learn about their medical options after the screening.
"Angel.com was very responsive to our request and our sales representative was with us every step of the way during the process of building our application," said Doug Hudson, CEO of Hearing Planet.
Within two weeks of signing an agreement, HearingPlanet began marketing their free hearing test to prospective customers. The test consists of a series of tones at different frequencies in each ear to determine the caller's hearing thresholds. At the end of the call, the customer can be connected to a HearingPlanet representative to discuss the results of the test. Even if the caller decides not to speak to an expert, information on the lead is sent to the company's reporting applications in so they can follow-up.
"We are already seeing a great return on our investment. Offering a free hearing test by phone is an outstanding marketing vehicle and the Angel.com solution works extremely well for our callers," he said.
