Harman Intros VoiceLogic Technology to Improve Speech Accuracy
Harman last week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas introduced Harman VoiceLogic technology, which it is calling a breakthrough in natural-sounding speech capture for telephony, tablets and notebook computers, and automotive hands-free applications.
Harman VoiceLogic is a suite of patented speech processing algorithms that includes technologies like beamforming, echo cancellation, and noise suppression, without introducing any digital artifacts or distortion. Speech quality is given top priority with Harman VoiceLogic. Communications products can use Harman VoiceLogic to minimize background and wind noise to increase signal-to-noise ratios, and to cancel echo in full-duplex hands-free speech. The resulting signal offers the best in perceived voice quality as well as the highest speech recognition accuracy.
Harman VoiceLogic technology can be used in any device or environment that demands high-quality speech capture. Applications include automobiles, speakerphones, conference phones, and mobile devices such as cell phones, tablets, convertible PCs, and notebook computers. Harman VoiceLogic is also well suited for use in voice-enabled televisions, set-top devices, and all-in-one desktop computers.
"Faithful speech capture and transmission is more important than ever, as both consumers and voice recognition engines demand the highest levels of sound quality," said Michael Mauser, president of the Lifestyle Division at Harman, in a statement. "Mobile phones, tablets, laptops, speakerphones and even automobiles all have an increased need for high-quality speech capture. Harman's VoiceLogic was designed to take Harman's legacy of studio-quality sound into all of these mobile devices and environments."
