Gold Systems Releases Speech-Powered Password Reset Solution
Gold Systems released Gold Systems' Password Reset. The product automates the process of resetting a forgotten or expired password. The first release of the product will run on the Microsoft Speech Server (MSS) 2004 R2 platform and supports biometric voice verification.
Gartner Group estimates that 25 percent of all calls to a help desk are password related and a typical help desk password reset call costs companies $10 to $31 each.
Gold Systems' Password Reset Solution was built on a "threat model" that seeks to eliminate up to 40 known password security vulnerabilities. This threat model was third-party certified with security vendors Microsoft and Applied Trust Engineering. With the optional Speaker Verification Module, Gold Systems' Password Reset solution offers biometric (voice-print) technology.
"Password security is a major problem for many companies. It's challenging to enforce strict password management without causing inconvenience for users and system administrators. Gold Systems' Password Reset™ product gives security conscious companies an innovative security tool that will appeal to both users and security professionals," said Trent Hein, chief executive officer of Applied Trust Engineering, a national security firm.
In June Gold Systems' Password Reset was awarded an ISV certification from Microsoft. The product is a one-day software installation that supports password policy management with Active Directory, eDirectory and other LDAP compliant systems. Future plans include support for other applications like Peoplesoft, SAP, Oracle, Siebel.
