Frost & Sullivan Honors Unified Messaging Solution by Interactive Intelligence
PALO ALTO, Calif. - Frost and Sullivan's recent study, North American Enterprise Messaging Markets, acknowledged Interactive Intelligence Inc.'s product innovation abilities in developing Communite(TM) for the enterprise unified messaging (UM) market. This solution has been introduced to the market using a software-oriented product approach.
Communite is directed towards institutions such as universities and service providers that are interested in deploying UM on a large scale, either centralized or in a distributed capacity. The company also bundles UM capabilities with its contact center automation and IP telephony software.
Communite is a solution with an architecture that involves "universal ports." These ports can be deployed with multiple enterprise deployment plans in mind.
"The customer can choose to deploy voice mail, UM, unified communications, fax, and interactive voice response (IVR), among other capabilities, on the same port and platform," said Frost and Sullivan research analyst Krithi Rao. "This provides the flexibility of 'choose-by-function' in a consolidated environment."
Another feature of Communite is its ability to be speech vendor-agnostic. This provides choices for customers in the text-to-speech modules (Microsoft TTS, Nuance, and ScanSoft) and voice recognition modules (Nuance and ScanSoft) that can be deployed with the solution.
"The strength of the product also lies in its support of a large cross-section of industry standards," Rao said. "Communite is compatible with e-mail packages such as Exchange, Notes, and Sun ONE, and supports various telephony standards such as Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), T1, and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)."
The 2004 Frost and Sullivan Award for Product Innovation is presented to the company that has shown significant improvement in sales by launching a broad line of products and technologies. The competitive advantages of the products, due to the revolutionary technologies used, have set the company on a growth trajectory in the market.
