Excel Switching and Brooktrout Change Company Name to Cantata Technology

Excel Switching and Brooktrout Technology, who combined operations in October 2005, have a new company name - Cantata Technology - accompanied by a corporate-wide re-branding initiative. Cantata Technology is a provider of standards-based enabling technology including media servers, media gateways and voice and fax platforms for the enterprise and service provider markets.

Cantata Technology is headquartered in Needham, Mass., with other offices in Belgium, the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Canada, and Japan, and a worldwide network of distributors, systems integrators, and resellers. Cantata employs approximately 360 people worldwide. Cantata's products are deployed in enterprise and service provider networks in more than 80 countries, at companies such as Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, Bank of America, Deutsche Telecom, and Alcoa.

Cantata Technology's product lines will be leveraging the familiar former company names. The Excel name will continue for many carrier products, the SnowShore name will be used for its IP Media Server, and the Brooktrout name will be used for the company's voice and fax enterprise products.
