European Carrier Deploys MERA's Session Controller for International Traffic Exchange
TORONTO - With MERA's Session Control technology, GTS-Datanet has simplified the management of its pan-European network. MVTS Session Controller operates as the 'brain' of the GTS network and performs routing of VoIP calls.
The signaling interoperability and CODEC conversion functionality has enabled GTS-Datanet to interconnect with their multivendor partners all across the globe. Furthermore, GTS can now benefit from the expanding community of VoIP carriers that are already utilizing the MVTS - both in Central Europe and internationally.
"Along with its comprehensive H.323 capabilities, the MERA solution has enabled us to explore new business opportunities in the SIP space," comments Peter Suveges, director, IP and voice services for GTS-Datanet. "The enhanced SIP functionality of the Session Controller allows us to efficiently peer with SIP partners. Furthermore, with the just-announced SIP registrar feature, GTS can quickly interconnect with a diversity of SIP endpoints devoid of a fixed IP address, such as IP PBXs, IP phones and low-capacity gateways, which are widely deployed by our business customers."
