DynaVox Compass Arrives on iPad
DynaVox, a Tobii Technology company providing speech-generating solutions and symbol-adapted special education software, has made its DynaVox Compass software is now available for an affordable, one-time app purchase for iPad tablets from the Apple App Store.
"The introduction of the DynaVox Compass App means that users can now have a complete version of the world's leading AAC software on the iPad as a one-time purchase, giving them an affordable way to implement the best communication therapy strategy possible on their platform of choice," said Bob Cunningham, chief strategy and clinical officer at DynaVox, in a statement. "The App can serve as a full communication solution for anyone who wants to use their iPad, but can also complement the use of other, touch-based dedicated AAC devices, such as the DynaVox T10 or T15."
DynaVox Compass provides research-based solutions for individuals of all ages and abilities who struggle to communicate due to conditions such as autism, ALS, stroke, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, general speech loss, or traumatic brain injury. The Compass App is built by a team of clinicians, gives users a reliable pathway to communication success and further builds their confidence. The Compass App allows you to download all the same tools, pre-loaded messages, symbols, core word strategies, and supports found on a dedicated device directly to a personal tablet.
In addition, DynaVox Compass seamlessly connects with a personal myDynaVox account, free to those who purchase the DynaVox Compass App. The account gives users access to teaching and therapy support and allows them to share content among family members, therapists, fellow users, and other members of the support team, as well as communication file backup and restore features.
Along with its one-time purchase option, users will soon be able to purchase the DynaVox Compass App with two communication pagesets, PODD and Gateway to Language and Learning. The DynaVox Compass App is available for a one-time purchase of $179.99, or as a subscription for $19.99 a month.
