DHS Awards FirstSource Contract to iGov
MCLEAN, Va. - The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded a FirstSource contract to iGov. Granted for a full array of IT products and services, the FirstSource contract was issued as a five-year IDIQ contract worth up to $3 billion.
Under the FirstSource contract, iGov has an exclusive partnership with IBM to provide servers, storage solutions, software, and other items to DHS. iGov will provide design, engineering, integration, installation, and other technical services in support of a range of IT products including servers, wired and wireless networking equipment, software, imaging products, biometrics, and voice recognition technologies.
iGov will provide to DHS its own suite of services and thousands of IT products from hundreds of original equipment manufacturers. The 53 contractors selected in 2006 for the FirstSource's companion acquisition vehicle, the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE), are required to consider iGov's contract when purchasing IT products and ancillary services. Products and services acquired under either contract must be aligned with the department's IT and EA strategy, and in accordance with federal and DHS acquisition regulations.
