Cortana and Alexa Are Making Friends
Reports from Microsoft’s BUILD Conference say that Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella announced a partnership between the company and Amazon. Nadella says the two companies will integrate their voice-activated technology.
According to TechTimes, “Amazon Alexa Senior Vice President Tom Taylor joined Microsoft general manager Megan Saunders on stage for a unique demonstration. The two tech leaders shared that customers would be able to use the two digital assistants in tangent in the future. Some of the examples that were used in the demonstration included checking schedules with Cortana on an Amazon Echo and using Alexa to order an Uber while using a Microsoft Windows 10.”
Additionally, Nadella announced Microsoft will spend $25 million on AI for Accessibility, giving grants to developers who seek to help the disabled through AI.
