Cognitive Code to Release SILVIA Conversational AI Platform
Cognitive Code has entered closed beta testing of SILVIA Studio Professional and SILVIA Studio Community, the new integrated development environment for the SILVIA Platform that allows developers to add fluid natural language experiences to Android, iOS, Windows, Cloud, and Unity applications, including virtual and augmented reality.
SILVIA is a conversational artificial intelligence platform for gaming and entertainment. The tools were optimized for rapid development of reusable content and include proprietary speech technology that allows for natural-sounding characters at a fraction of the cost of traditional voice-overs.
"With SILVIA, we are no longer relegated to floating text for conversational options that trigger pre-scripted responses," said Alex Mayberry, Cognitive Code's chief product officer, in a statement. "Now we can create characters who are conversationally intelligent and who can interact with us like another human being. Instead of scrolling through a wall of quest text, we can just have a conversation directly with the quest giver. And if we need an AI to open the pod-bay doors, all we have to do is ask."
"Our SILVIA Platform is uniquely suited to bring a true conversational experience to millions of gamers," added Cognitive Code Founder and CEO Leslie Spring, in the statement. "Now that we are making our tools and technologies available to the general developer community, we can't wait to see the amazing software created using SILVIA in gaming, VR, and related applications where highly intuitive conversational interactions can provide entirely new categories of interactive experiences."
Both SILVIA Studio Professional and Community editions are expected to be released in the second quarter of this year.
