Clarity Technologies Helps Provide Speech Recognition

AUBURN HILLS, /> Mich. - Clarity Technologies Inc announced that its CVC (Clear Voice Capture) noise suppression technology for automatic speech recognition software can now interoperate, and can be sold with, IBM(R) Embedded ViaVoice(R).

IBM will offer Clarity's CVC(R) software with IBM Embedded ViaVoice speech recognition solutions.  IBM customers can now purchase IBM Embedded ViaVoice and Clarity CVC(R) Noise Suppression software together.

For far-field communications -- that is, when users must speak to a microphone from a distance, CVC(R) software voice extraction technology solves audio performance degradation in applications.  Clarity's CVC(R) technology thus can become an audio front-end helping to differentiate IBM Embedded ViaVoice speech recognition solutions for hands-free automotive and other wireless applications including Bluetooth.

Clarity Technologies' CVC(R) technology has been selected by six automotive nameplates for their hands-free phone products and is in production or available in products across major telecom markets.
