CPC Releases Real-Time Speech Recognition-Based Closed Captioning
CPC today released YouCaption, a live closed captioning software product driven by speech recognition.
YouCaption can caption audio and video files and phone conferences on a number of platforms and does not require a costly hardware closed caption encoder for most applications.
Captions are displayed on PowerPoint presentations and computer screens. Users of online meetings or screen sharing systems such as WebEx, GoToMeeting, or TeamViewer, can include the closed captions window as part of their shared screens.
The captions can also be directed to a live Web page that can be viewed on virtually all Web browsers, including smartphones and tablet PCs like the iPad and iPod, with no special software or plug-ins needed, however, it does require access to a Web server with PHP and MySQL installed.
Captions are displayed moments after the corresponding words are spoken. There is no buffering or need to pause.
YouCaption can interface with CPC's CaptionMaker software to control a local or remote broadcast closed caption encoder.YouCaption outputs a timed transcript of each session. If users need to broadcast or upload a video recording of their events later, they can use this script in CPC's CaptionMaker or MacCaption closed captioning software to add captions to the recording. They can also provide a plain text transcript to anyone who missed the event or use it for indexing and archiving.
