Brown University to Voice-Enable Its Capus Directory
Phonetic Systems announced that Brown University has chosen PhoneticOperator to voice-enable the university's main phone directory.
The directory of more than 5,000 records will be available for use by university staff, faculty and students.
Phonetic Systems currently supports more than 10,500,000 unique directory listings and more than 225 million calls per year across its live deployments.
"Like many universities, Brown was searching for a more effective method of facilitating telephone connectivity for faculty and staff. Brown realized that live operators were not an efficient use of resources and didn't satisfy the 7x24 campus needs so they've opted for a voice-enabled solution that is cost-effective and easily deployed," said Mark Bannon, vice president sales and technical services at Phonetic Systems.
Brown's staff looked at many alternatives solutions and selected PhoneticOperator because it was the only product that met their technical and business requirements. "Brown wanted a solution that provided both the necessary product features and a proven track record of successful installations over many years. Experience was a large factor in Brown's decision to implement PhoneticOperator," noted Bannon.
