BlueSkyeye Eyes Speech to Diagnose Perinatal Depression
BlueSkyeye AI, a spin-out of the University of Nottingham in England, is exploring the use of its Avocado face and voice analysis technology to help diagnose peri- and post-natal depression.
The research seeks to fine tune the Avocado app to predict the indicators of depression in women during pregnancy and up to six months after birth. The app can detect facial muscle actions, speech rate, and tone of voice, which is fed into the artificial intelligence technology alongside questionnaire data to analyze emotional states and identify women who are at risk of depression.
