Asia Telecom Deploys MERA's Session Controller to Power Its International Calling Services
TORONTO - Asia Telecom has deployed MERA's MVTS Session Controller for delivery of international direct dialing services to customers in over 220 countries across the globe.
Asia Telecom is an international telecom service provider based in Hong Kong with associate offices across the world. The Company provides telecom products and services to its customers.
The MVTS Session Controller from MERA Systems has been deployed by Asia Telecom to ensure management of their network and streamline the network infrastructure.

MERA's MVTS offers the following:
- Interoperability with multi-vendor equipment: MERA's Session Controller provides traffic exchange with partner networks built on multivendor solutions.
- Generation of billing data for international direct dial service transparency: MVTS performs centralized network management and VoIP transit switching on Asia Telecom's Cisco powered network. It provides a point for collection of accounting information and guarantees protection against data loss. Furthermore, MVTS interacts with Asia Telecom's internal billing system via RADIUS protocol and enables Asia Telecom to deliver both prepaid and postpaid services to their customers.
- Routing of calls: MVTS allows Asia Telecom to channel calls through the available links based on their cost and quality. This functionality helps Asia Telecom to manage the differentiated tariff schemes they offer to different communities and corporate groups.
