Amazon Echo Brings Voice-Control to Insteon Devices
Users of Insteon Hub smart home connected devices can now use the Amazon Echo to voice-control their Insteon connected homes.
Alexa, the brain behind Amazon Echo, will be able to understand and facilitate requests from across the room. Users can also create a group that includes devices not only from Insteon but also from other manufacturers, such as Philips' Hue and Belkin's WeMo, controlling all of them with Amazon Echo.
"Through our collaboration with Insteon, we've expanded the capabilities of Amazon Echo and brought in more options for automated home owners," said Greg Hart, vice president of Amazon Echo and Alexa Voice Services at Amaqzon, in a statement. "We're excited about the breadth and depth of Insteon product offerings and the impact this integration is going to have for customers, bringing voice commands to more connected homes."
"Amazon Echo is a major game-changer for consumers who have been asking for voice control of Insteon devices," said Joe Dada CEO of Insteon, in a statement. "We're deeply committed to working with leading companies like Amazon to advance the connected home, and Echo is the perfect complement, creating a more fluid voice control experience for our customers."
