AgileTV and SeaChange Release VOD Solution for On-Demand Television

MENLO PARK, Calif. and MAYNARD, Mass. - AgileTV and SeaChange International released a voice-activated VOD solution for the cable industry. Promptu, AgileTV's voice activated search and navigation service has been integrated with SeaChange's VOD system and deployed in cable systems in technical and marketing trials.

Cable operators deploying SeaChange's VOD system with Motorola set-top boxes are now able to offer their customers a navigational service to access programming line up regardless of where content is located-broadcast, On Demand, or on the DVR. Now those operators who have chosen SeaChange as their VOD solution can deploy the Promptu navigation service and have customers searching for their favorite programs by genre or find a specific show by saying the name of the program, network, actor or sports team.

Promptu, AgileTV's core product, is a server-centric voice recognition service that allows cable television viewers to search through cable programming available today.  Promptu utilizes a managed database exceeding more than 100,000 phrases with higher than 90 percent voice recognition accuracy.
