Acapela Partners with AI

Acapela Group and AI, a Japanese provider of text-to-speech technology, have signed a partnership that seeks to expand the two companies' speech solutions with an enriched catalogue of languages and voices.

The partnership allows cross distribution of AI and Acapela TTS solutions. Acapela's multilingual TTS, available in 34 languages, will be exclusively distributed in Japan by AI, while Acapela Group will provide an improved version of its Japanese TTS resulting from the collaboration outside of Japan.

From a technical perspective, Acapela and AI teams are already working to develop a new Japanese TTS solution combining the latest innovations in deep neural networks (DNN) from Acapela with AI's expertise in the Japanese language.

With this partnership, Acapela Group looks forward to expanding the adoption of Acapela multilingual voices in Japan while AI foresees answering the needs of foreign residents and tourists in Japan for voice-enabled multilingual services, which should increase considerably by 2020 when the Olympic Games come to Tokyo.
