NeoSpeech TTS Powers New Japanese Learning App
Rakudasoft has incorporated NeoSpeech's text-to-speech (TTS) Japanese voices into its Hands-Free Sensei app for learning Japanese. The mobile app for iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch devices allows users to practice Japanese vocabulary, and, in later versions, kanji - Japanese symbols - and grammar.
By using NeoSpeech TTS Japanese voices Misaki and Show, Hands-Free Sensei allows Japanese learners to speed up and slow down the speech, pause, play, and go back and forth. Hands-Free Sensei helps users create their own vocabulary lists, which can be stored in the cloud so they are synched not only between devices but also between applications.
"Learning in a class or at home is fun but, if you're like me, you spend a lot of time in the car or outside," said Ray Price, Rakudasoft founder, in a statement. "By easily using NeoSpeech speech synthesis (TTS) and speech recognition technology, Hands-free Sensei can ask you questions, your answers then logged and progress tracked to make sure you're always practicing the most personally challenging words and phrases, not the stuff you already know."
Hands-free Sensei requires iOS 5.1 or later and is specifically optimized for iPhone 5.
